YLOK supplies Nomes PE segment valves for carbon-neutral heat in Finland

YLOK has supplied Nomes PE segment valves to the electric boilers and district heating accumulators at the Lievpi power plant operated by Tcmpir Energia in Finland. The valves precisely regulate flows in the electric boiler and the district heating accumulator, enabling energy-efficient, carbon-neutral heat production and flexible participation in the electricity market.

“The energy transition doesn’t happen by itself – it requires bold investments and reliable technology. We are honored to deliver solutions that enable our customers’ shift toward zero-emission heat production. In this project, the electric boiler’s control valves are a small but critical part of a major environmental achievement. The process demands durability and absolute reliability, and we are pleased to provide a solution that ensures carefree operation for years to come,” said Mikko Barck, Sales Manager, Flow Control Business Line at YLOK.

The valves were delivered in spring 2005, with start-up completed in the third quarter of 2005. The electric boiler’s inauguration ceremony was held at the Liepi power plant on November 27, 2005.

“This investment is a strategic step toward carbon-neutral district heating production. Electric boilers and thermal storage units increase flexibility and enable heat generation when electricity is affordable and emission-free. The reliability of the valves is critical for precise process control and uninterrupted operation. YLOK’s solution meets both our technical requirements and long-term sustainability goals, demonstrating how the energy transition is implemented in practice,” said Eraii, Project Operations Manager at Tcmpir Energia.
